Form a Circle: The Eleventh House

In the 10th house, our fruit bearing journeys had reached their climaxes. We could finally say “I know what I am doing”. However, what we usually don’t know by this point is that this is not the end of the journey. Even the climax was not the destination, but it was a means to an end – AGAIN!

There we hone our skills and produce, whatever it is we produce according to our charts. But as a blanket term, I like to use the words “effect” or “impact” to describe this idiosyncratic fruit i.e. our unique impact on the world through us being the way we are. This obviously may include career but is not limited to that. This is what the world receives by being exposed to “me”. Feel free to give the 10th house post a read if you want to expand on this.

If you have been with me on this journey, or perhaps if you are already familiar with some of the workings of the houses – you might know that there are 12 houses and they are divided into 4 quadrants with each quadrant having 3 houses that serve as the beginning, continuation and the dissolution of one process (4 processes in total). These are very general processes of being human – such as forming an identity, executing that identity, socializing and expanding and making an impact etc.

The 10th house marks the beginning of the last quadrant of the chart, and it had started the last process of us making our impact on our surroundings, however narrow or broad those surroundings are. Through an analysis of this area, we could get a sense of the color and the taste of this impact and of our attitude towards our worldly affairs.

What follows and continues this is the 11th house. The 11th house is traditionally called the house of hopes, dreams and ideals – which gives it somewhat of a justice but still is not good enough for my standards.

Bear in mind, every house is related to the processes that precede and follow it – and this couldn’t be truer for a succedent house (2nd, 5th, 8th and 11th houses). In the case of the 11th house, this means being the area of experience that literally connects the climax with the ending (next house is the last one).

So, this house is the field of activity that we enter after we master our unique type of impact AND before we say goodbye to all of the ego accumulation we have accomplished that made this impact possible in the first place.

At this point, we have grown, become adults, established ourselves and even impacted the world. We have seen all facets of individual and social existence (almost all) – and now we have opinions, ideals, and hopes for the world that we’ve had this existence on. Our public living (10th house) has crystalized into not materials, not emotions, not impulses but IDEALS. This is the Aquarian house of the chart – where the mind is given form, hence ideas, opinions, ideals, wishes as symptoms.

Because whenever we hear keywords around astrological concepts, we are most likely only talking about symptoms of a process that is bigger than these words. We always need to ask the question “why” if we are to truly understand why something looks or behaves a specific way (or experienced in a specific way). Symptoms are local and bound by time, person, location, training etc. What that symptom is a merely reflection of is universal and timeless.

This is an easy method of detecting bullshit astrology. If they are saying “something means something”, then it almost certainly means that they don’t know why “that something means that something” (if it even does), because the reason is always much more interesting. And if they knew the reason, they would certainly be talking about that instead of the symptom.

During our making of our impacts and our public living, we experience the world fully and we form opinions and ideals. As a result, the field of experience that follows organically is our seeking to make the changes that reflect our newfound ideals. Here enters the collective. In the first house related to socialization (3rd house) we learned to think and speak (in rough terms), in the second one (7th house), we met “the other”, and we learned to socialize in a mutual setting (2 people or parties), here in the last one of them we experience the ultimate social setting – the collective moving towards a shared ideal. This requires our best social selves because it also asks us to start letting go of our egos a little bit. (teasing the next house)

To make big changes, we need more people – and the operation of “more people” i.e. groups need less of “my ego”. Isn’t it interesting that the 11th house is directly opposite the 5th house of self-expression?

It isn’t. Because you should know by now that first 6 houses are individual experiences and the other 6 are collective counterparts to that (in rough terms).

So, the 11th is the house of “collective expression” and our attitude and experience of it. This area of our charts may show our experiences in our friend groups, our attitude to collective endeavors along with our ideals, and ideas we form in and for the world that we live in. That world may be our little friend group and how we go about co-existing and achieving fun, growth and change, it may be the organizations we are a part of (company, charity, activism), or humanity in general (species as a collective unit).

Next house is the last one, see you there!

If you want to learn more about your natal eleventh house and/or the rest of your chart, I recommend my Spotlight reading. I designed it as an easy to digest entry into your chart focusing on one or two areas of your life. For more information or to book a session, feel free to shoot me an e-mail at astroadco@gmail.com or DM me on Instagram (@astroadco).

Here are what some of my clients said about this reading:

Uğur interpreted my shortcomings and fears that I had always noticed but escaped from or overlooked in such a great way. Years later, he gave me the power to work on them. Plus, he helped me explore some of my intuitive abilities. Thanks wouldn’t be enough.

— Ş. T.

In our session with Uğur, I faced my qualities that I had explored or known about but weren’t able to identify. In addition to reading my birth chart, his meditative approach allowed me to stay in the session with a holistic view. I keep his realistic advice with me during the day.

— U. Y.

It was an experience that I had never had before. Most of our session was in the form of a conversation. Of course, he had such a command of his reading that I didn’t realize how the hours passed by. Thank you Uğur for helping me make sense of myself, my environment, the universe, my life and how these are interconnected; and for opening this path for me. I can’t wait for our next session.

— Y. Y. K.

I really enjoyed my reading with Uğur. He gave me so much insight into the meaning, history and different theories of astrology. It was a pleasure to discuss such an interesting topic with someone so passionate. Learning about my chart, in a way that I can understand, and without the frills of “fortune telling” was very refreshing. It definitely aligned with and supported the wellbeing practices I am using in my life. I felt energized and empowered after our session. I highly recommend Uğur if you’re looking to get an elevated astrology reading. Thank you Uğur!

— S. Ş.

My session was excellent! Uğur was thoroughly prepared, conveyed information with precision, empathy and humor, and was responsive to questions. This was my second official reading with Uğur and I will certainly arrange a third.
